Sabrina stumped me with this one this morning. And Iâve made a very not Jen card. Purple with butterflies? Who am I? I threw on a Purple Heart sticker in the end for good measure too! I struggled to find a good EF for this technique, but then I decided that I have a lot of neglected butterfly stamps that could be fluttering through this garden. Butterflies just donât inspire me but I have so many butterfly stamps. I was so sure this was going to go really badly for me, but to my surprise I got a nice purple background and perfectly clear butterfly images. I also actually used my brayer to put the green on the raised parts of the card. Then I colored in the flowers and the butterflies with my Spectrum Noirs. To finish off, I grabbed a frame out of my scrap basket and then I found this sentiment on my table that I had chopped off an old birthday card that my aunt had given me. I thought it was a nice sentiment for this card plus itâs purple. Not a Jen card, but I did have fun making it and Iâm sure I can find someone to send it to. Thanks for the fun challenge, Sabrina!

Have fun with a fish tank! But I'm so glad you tried a butterfly garden, because that was one of the ideas I had - only I was trying to find a floral ef with enough open space and butterflies that weren't too detailed. Maybe some time soon, now that I have this to show me how good it can look. I kind of think it's a shame to cover any up, but it's a lovely sentiment and the little purple heart is so cute.

I totally get you, Jen. But you did set those flutter~bys free! Recycled a sentiment, another card for when the occasion calls, and got a challenge card. Winner! And tomorrow you’ll be back in your Jen lane! You go girl

This was my first try at this technique and I too was surprised how things managed to work out for me on my card. I love how these butterflies fit right in with floral folder.

Totally love your embossed illusion card. You were so smart to choose an EF with lots of open space so you could stamp effectively - your butterflies turned out great. And thanks for sharing the tip about using the brayer to apply color to the stems. I was wondering how to get color on the raised areas on my embossed project without getting color in the other areas - this is the answer! Yeah - I’ll give it a try.
TFS this fun addition to the challenge!
