Our cards are going to 12 year old Arman from Avalon Elementary school in Orlando. We are sending him paper hugs, our way to keep paying the kindness forward.
Food, sport and Harry Potter are our themes of choice this week. I have never read a Harry Potter book or seen any of the movies, I think it's time I rectified that.
I bought this fun digi image from Polkadoodles - oh my goodness what a fabulous collection of images. I printed several different sizes of the image as I wasn't sure what I was going to make. I plan on putting little Harry on a bookmark for Arman.
Both images are printed on copy paper and coloured with Prismacolour Pencils, Zest it pencil blend and highlighted with a couple of Copics.
To maximise the shine in his hair I was very firm with the Zest-it and the colourless blending pencil. The greater pressure results in more shine. Adding a Copic marker over the top makes it super shiny.
I gently rubbed the walnut stain foam blending tool over the finished image to take away that "just coloured" look, then finished off with a few more flicks of Copic E39 in his hair.
The moon was made using the negative of a circle die cut and a good old silver Versa Colour cube ink (still as inky as the day I bought it 15 years ago). Stars were added with Stickles.
Next step was to adhere Harry to the moonlight background - it needed something, so I trimmed the black panel down a bit and mounted it on a panel I had in my mixed media stash. Job done.
I hope you get a chance to join in and get inky. Thanks so much for looking.

Wow, Susie, Harry never looked so good. Some totally fabulous coloring - even his wand looks extra special. This is amazing and I love it. I have read all the books and seen all the movies and spin offs a bunch of times. It is so fun and I highly recommend them.
Thanks for hosting too.
Hugz

I am an HP (not Hewlett Packard) fan, have read the books multiple times, rewatched the movies until I can quote the lines. I love fantasy. Your HP image is wonderful, although I thought he was Ron, since his hair is red. But Ron doesn't wear glasses.

Wow! Another awesome card from someone that hasn’t yet read all the books! I am so impressed! My grandson read all the books by the time he was eight! The younger grandson listened and could tell me what happen in each book!
I found just a few sheets of HP left from Graphic45... have to see what I can do with it! Thanks for the challenge, Susie!
Awww! Susie! Congrats on being a hostess for the Tea Pot Challenge! I know you have had lots of ideas for our Tea Pot challenge in the past so it's fun that you are now official! This is gorgeous! Oh, the magic of Harry Potter and a good deed!! What a super fun destination! Hugs!

You also make magic happen but your wands are your pencils and Copics. I really like how you grounded Harry. You are the master of highlights and details. Congrats on your first TP hosting. Thought you might like to know that I have a non SCS friend who enjoys hopping a ride on the card making/giving tea party bus. I am sure she'll send one to Arman.

What an absolutely stupendous card for a wonderful young man, Arman! Your artwork is out of this world! Harry Potter is stunning. Your coloring and additional blending work to create a 3D image that pops off the page! Simply amazing Susie!
