This is my sample for CC716. Jeanne is our hostess and she chose blushing bride, pear pizzazz and melon mambo for her color trio. Dessert option this week is foliage. It's tricky with these colors but I managed to do it.
I wanted to go with a Christmas card and again the colors don't lean towards Christmas but I made them work.
My lantern image is a die from CottageCutz. I used the challenge colors plus some neutrals for the greenery.
My pine boughs are cut in mossy meadow (Stampin'-Up's new neutral) and the acorn is soft suede and baked brown sugar.
I just bought the Stampin'-Up Buffalo Check stamp and wanted to use it on this card for my background. I stamped in blushing bride ink andthen used a pear pizazz marker and drew lines to make it a tartan plaid.
That's my sample for this week. Hope you can play along with us.

Lovely lantern with the pine bough on top, and the custom Buffalo Check background is fabulous! Well done using these colors for a beautiful Christmas card!

Beautiful card! Love the plaid background. I just bought the Buffalo Check background, too, but haven’t used it yet. I like how you used a marker to make lines with it.

Mary, you certainly did make the colors work for this wonderful Christmas card! I love the lantern with its glowing candle, but most of all, I love what you did with the plaid! So much easier than my attempt a few weeks ago, trying to stamp straight lines--your marker placement is perfect. Thanks for the description of your process!
