When I was 7, I started piano lessons. I started flute lessons when I was 11 and studied both instruments through college. I have always sung, had voice lessons in college, sung in choirs. I ended up with a BFA in music education. I taught in schools and taught piano and flute for 35 years. My grandmother went to college to be a music teacher; my Dad had to choose between music or art as a major, chose art but had a lovely singing voice and directed the church choir. At an early age, I was listening to Wagner opera (not my favorite) and Broadway show tunes. I guess you could say I was immersed.
My background was made with the mousse and Inca gold, applied with my finger. The wood shapes were embellished with the glitter.

What a challenging sentiment - I like that sort of a card. And the two partially sparkled leaves are in harmony with the sentiment. The gold cord looks fabulous against the dusty rose (on my screen, late at night) colours. Thanks for sharing your musical background, too.
We had a brief discussion in work today because my boss said she wanted us all like an orchestra - but actually, she really wants us in unison with ideally no counterpoint, so if translated to music it wouldn't be very interesting. Just much better for good statistical analysis.

Beautiful card, Jean. Lovely layout and bg, I haven't tried the mousse. Marvelous sentiment and the glittered leaves add such a magical touch. So glad you shared your musical background. Thanks for playing in my challenge and celebrating the beauty of music.

stunning collage of music and nature. I really like the leaves with the movement of the glittered layer. And of course the quote is thought provoking!
I'll carry my singing in my bucket and meet you halfway. It was suggested my talents laid elsewhere when my parents wanted me to sing in the children's choir at the church I was raised in. My heart's in tune, though!
You are rockin' the challenges.....
