This is for Lydia's fun mixed media challenge "Foiled Impressionist Collage". Lydia included a terrific instructional video.
I didn't have any craft foil so I tried foil from a chocolate wrapper and a biscuit packet, but nothing worked.
I used some ancient metallic rub on stuff and some walnut stain distress ink to add a bit more interest.
I made a happy mess making gelli plate backgrounds all afternoon- enough to last a year. I have discovered if I work really quickly, I can lift a good print using copy paper. There is something very liberating about copy paper - if you muck it up, just toss it out.
I already had this girl coloured up waiting for a home, this technique is perfect for weirdo images (did you see the bird in her hair).
She is coloured on copy paper with Prismacolour Pencils, zest it pencil blend and a few highlights of Copics were added at the end.
My acrylic paint and alcohol inks are similar colours so there isn't a lot of contrast but the texture is interesting in real life.
Thank you for looking.

Susie is definitely back in action again. Yes I did see the weirdo bird in her hair - that alone would definitely make it a bad hair day! Sitting here trying to get some inspiration after a long day spent in the garden. This beautiful, colourful creation just might do it.

She really seems to be growing out of the background, especially with the Liquid Pearls. What gorgeous colours. I see I'm still not getting notification for your gallery, grr; I just spotted this when checking the MIX thread.

Beautifully done and described my friend. Oh how I have missed your super fun creations. The bird in her hair is soooo cool - wish we could get away with putting creations like this in our hair to hide bad hair days. I used to think that when I got a bit older I could do it, but I already get enough eye rolls - not sure I could handle any more. When I dressed up as Cher/Naomi Judd, it was a bit too much for me - lol! Many hugz and oohs and aahs over your card.
