I created a quick poistioning template for use in the Misti for making wreaths in the manner Gina K makes hers. The lamination is sturdy enough for repeated use AND cleanup of waterbased inks does not disturb the permanent markings.
I laminated a trimmed a sheet of the Misti's grid paper then drew locating details in colored alcohol markers so I could put 2 sizes on 1 grid sheet.
Cut a piece of CS to the square size you will use (I did 4" and 3 3/4").
- On each piece of CS draw 4 lines:
--- 2 lines connecting the opposing corners (like an 'X')
--- 2 lines, center of one edge to the center of opposite side (resulting in 4 small squares).
Laminate and trim 1 sheet of the Misti grid paper.
Instructions are for 1 size. For 2nd size on same sheet, turn the laminated sheet 180 degrees and repeat the steps.
1)
- Place laminated gridsheet into Misti; identify the closest to center VERTICAL gridline
2)
- Vertical placement of CS: Place CS "on point" (like a diamond shape) on the laminated gridsheet with the VERTICAL corner-to-corner line in alignment with the laminated gridsheet's VERTICAL gridline. Be sure to leave a gridrow or two's space between bottom corner of the CS and Misti's bottom edge.
- Horizontal placement of CS: right and left corners must be located on a horizontal gridline of the laminated sheet
- Add magnets to secure CS's position then trace the outline of the CS with an alcohol marker.
2)
- Remove magnets; rotate CS 45-degrees or so edges of CS are parallel to edges of the Misti
- Position so the CS-CENTERLINES align to the laminated gridlines' that the 'on-point' square's corners are located on. (Image's red lines show this best)
- Secure with magnets then trace this outlined position.
That's it! This template will require use of magnets when stamping if you might need to stamp a position more than once.
