I created a positioning template for use in the Misti for use with Concord & 9th's TURNABOUT stamps.
I laminated & trimmed a sheet of the Misti's grid paper then drew locating details in colored alcohol markers as follows. The lamination is sturdy enough for repeated use AND cleanup of waterbased inks does not disturb the permanent markings.
- Laminate and trim down 1 Misti Gridpaper sheet.
- Prepare a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" CS for tracing: Draw HORIZONTAL and VERITICAL centerlines edge to edge on the CS.
With the laminated & trimmed gridsheet in the Misti:
1)
- Place CS-with-centerlines in LANDSCAPE mode on the laminated grid, snugging the CS against the right edge of opened Misti;
- Center CS VERTICALLY then align CS's horizontal centerline to the nearest horizontal gridmark.
- Secure CS in position with magnets then trace around the CS in your first color (alcohol marker);
- Add tic marks to the grid per the CS's CENTERLINES (they should be at gridlines);
- Remove the CS from the grid;
- Add VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL CENTERLINES of the traced image to the grid, extending centerlines WELL beyond the edges of the traced image.
2)
Position the CS back on the grid, this time in PORTRAIT mode, aligning CS-CENTERLINES to the CENTERLINES previously drawn on the grid;
- Secure CS with magnets then trace the outlined position of the CS (I used a 2nd color)
- Remove the magnets & CS
3)
On the grid in a 3rd color, draw an 'X' through the intersection of the CENTERLINES on the grid and the points where both Landscape and Portrait positions intersect (drew mine in red). This is the centerpoint for positioning Concord & 9th's Turnabout stamps.
Additionally, I marked my 2 Wreath Turnabout single stamps to easily locate their centers. A blue 'dot' was added to the one that is solid through the middle. On the one that's open in the middle, I marked where the "X" lines will be located when positioned in the Misti.
