Today's colors are unusual together...seems I almost always have trouble w/ the purply colors. And though there's not much to this card, it gave me trouble from start to finish. Sigh...one of those days.
After I used the distress inks to sponge the bg, I used my Misti to stamp these silhouette wellies & umbrella. That was a chore all in itself. I tried a bunch of different inks & colors but the black chalk ink looked the best w/ this bg. I still had to add a few of the lines back in w/ a white gel pen. And a little color was added w/ a green & a pink marker.
Then I proceeded to somehow get ink in places I didn't mean to but thankfully, it was covered up by the placement of the images.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ closeups & the inside: The Write Stuff

love the sentiment on your pretty card Julie- I like the background you created for your wellies & umbrella - wish I could take credit for putting these colors together-Stampin'-Up thought they blended together so well they put them together in a designer paper pack- I just jumped on their creativity

Your beautiful sponging caught my eye straight away, Julie, this card is so lovely with the umbrella and gumboot! Isn't it annoying when ink appears where it shouldn't - I had just finished a panel of stained glass for the TLC challenge, used a sharpie for the lines and .... the sharpie bled and spoilt my work!!!

Julie your work definitely paid off with this stunning card. Your ink blended background with those lovely raindrops is so beautiful and the boots and umbrella look fantastic! It's a gorgeous scene and a wonderful card of encouragement!

Julie, this card is stunning! If you hadn't written about your struggle with it, no one would ever have known. It's simply lovely and the effort you have put into it was well worth it.
