A big congrats to Nancy, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a lovely, colorful gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I kept the macaw theme but used different images, different dies & made mine a birthday card.
After stamping, I used Copics to color the macaw then over stamped to sharpen up the details again. A Pierced Oval die was used to cut him out & I had to do a little out of the box to keep from cutting off his tail. I used larger Ovals & Pierced Ovals to make a 2 layered frame around him. Portions of a Flourished Vine were added, cut out of the same green as the frame. The Happy Birthday was die cut once out of black & once out of white & stacked, a little offset.
Congrats again, Nancy! Thanks so much for looking. My blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, your macaw is gorgeous. You've colored him beautifully. Love the green you used for framing. Glad you went out of the box and didn't cut off those tail feathers.

Marvelous! Love the coloring on the macaw and the out-of-the-box for the tail feathers. The bright green framing is excellent. Beautifully inspired card. I know this one is close to your heart because of your own birds. Someone will cherish this card. TFS

Missed this lovely in the gallery. What a gorgeous choice of colors and wonderful application...that parrot look like it could squawk at anytime! Love the vibrant green stitched mat and flourish...just enhances that bird all the more!

Gorgeous macaw, Julie. I love the out of the box cutting and coloring of this beauty. The dotted mats are wonderful too. Hope you are finally enjoying being in your new house.....and keeping warm. Happy New Year, my friend!
