I think I have two favourite things that I used this year more than any other. Firstly is this two step rose from Hampton Arts. This was on sale at Mikes after Christmas last year (70% off) and I have used it quite a lot all year long. I also found these cute little gift cards and envelopes in Mike's 'give away' bin and I think they go well together. Another favourite thing is not really a thing but I am addicted to this 'Faux Silk' technique and have become notorious for 'liberating' extra serviettes from friends and family. It is an easy technique and works up in no time at all. Just cut a piece of white cardstock, ply the serviette to one layer and crumple it up in a small ball, smear a glue stick to completely cover the cardstock, unfold the serviette and pat it gently on the glue making sure all edges are glued. Simply let dry and make your card. PRESTO!! You can find a great tutorial by Beate Johns here: Faux Silk Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers . I wonder what will obsess me this year??? Happy New Year to all.

This is such a pretty card. Love the background and the beautiful watercolour way you have stamped the trees. I still dream of all the beautiful design papers I saw in Michaels on my recent trip to Canada - so much paper - such a small suitcase!

Oh ya I love that faux silk technique, too....it's so easy but looks quite impressive. Your winter scene here is lovely on this long card. And I really like how those two step stamps work...they're awesome here on your little enclosures.

What a gorgeous card this is using the faux silk technique. This little deer is so sweet stepping out from these wonderful pine trees. I love roses too and these are really pretty so I can see why you have reached for them so often. Happy New Year to you! ~Karen.

Gorgeous roses and perfect for the gift cards. What a find! The faux silk with a serviette (which took me a bit to figure out a serviette is a napkin) is beautiful. Wonderful technique that I will certainly try soon.
