This card goes out to Sue, who has seen many of my creations and will appreciate the effort and the imperfect result. Susanne sent the challenge items this month-die cut Christmas tree shapes and clear acetate sheets. My idea was to create a double magic window card with the first "pull" revealing the colored light bulbs and the 2nd "pull" revealing the lights on the glittered tree with an illuminated star atop the tree. Great idea, nearly impossible execution.
This is my first try with the Chibi light system and running the copper tape to attach the star (behind the gold vellum) to the battery (which needed to be at the top of the pull tab and folded over for metal to metal contact) required a bit of engineering, especially since the "pull" part moves but the star does not. Anyway, I spend many hours fiddling and trying to get a semblance of a track for the panel to move smoothly and end up exactly behind the die cut opening which is about 3/8" wide. Then a couple of goofs with the window reveal-the final straw that broke the camel's back was when I placed the sentiment on the top panel, completely forgetting that I should have put it at the TOP so it is hidden until pulled instead of at the bottom where it looked quite nice over the star.
Anyway, Sue, this needs to get in the mail to have any chance at all of reaching you before Santa. Enjoy playing with this sticky, fussy, persnickety magical slider LED lit Christmas tree.
