This card is for this week's Color Challenge and the Falliday Fest Challenge - Wallflower to stamp an floral image on edge of card. This image is so large that stamping on the edge is almost necessary. I bought this stamp years ago but did not like it just stamped - it always seemed flat to me. But I did a card two years ago where I added shading and detail to the image after stamping I now love the way it looks. I inked the flower with So Saffron ink and then used a Close to Cocoa (neutral) to ink the center of the flower. I used Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa and Wild Wasabi to shade the flower. I did this against a background of the French Script stamp inked with Soft Sky ink. After stamping and coloring, I used Wild Wasabi ink to add a stencil pattern and some sponging on the edges. I added a greeting and a dragonfly.

Kathy, this is stunning! Your blend of colors is perfect. The stencil adds a great touch. Into my faves!

I can see why you chose this as your favorite, although I have not looked at all your other cards yet, This is a gorgeous one. The layers of script, colors and stenciling makes a wonderful background for the big sunflower! What I like about the overall card most of all though is the softness of the coloring! The dragonfly and the flower center are especially ethereal!
