For Falliday Fest Tutorial #8 we were given the Mason Jar Topper tutorial by Dina.
These were easy directions and it went together perfectly - the hardest part was trying to figure what inks and coloring mediums to use. I stamped the pine cone branch with Sepia and Spanish Moss Versafine Inks. Then I colored the background with Ranger Distress marker Tumbled Glass. (I started using Copics but they reacted with the inked image) I went over the pine bits with Crushed Olive Marker and used Antique Linen Marker over the pine cones.
I had these cute pint size wide mouth Mason jars from another project and I love how short and squat they are - I just knotted a ribbon around the lid and pinned on a rusted star that I purchased at an antique shop while visiting my son in Maryland this summer.
These will make lovely gift containers with something inside! Here is the tutorial found in the Tutorials section

Your topper with pinecones turned out beautifully, Julia. I can sympathize that sometimes it is hard to get the right combination between stamped inks and colorin mediums.

Great little jar topper and ready to fill!! That is what is great about these falliday challenges. Gets things ready for when you need them.
