You know I am mad about plaid. Especially making my own. So I made my own plaid background sky for this moon and star.
This is a card that I knew I would have to make some day, but that certainly doesn't make it any easier. My friend's 12 year old son passed away this weekend. He had some form of leukodystrophy and was never expected even to make it to 12. He spent his short life hooked up to machines, but surrounded by lots of love. I wanted to make a card that Logan would have liked, you know, not all grown up and stuffy. So I went with these cartoonish digis and used a hand-drawn plaid background to make it more playful. The inside has my favorite sentiment "Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy." This one's for you, Logan.

Oh, my goodness. What a heart-breaking reason to make a card, but you have made the perfect one with the a lovely quote. Makes me want to squeeze my kids when they get home from school today whether they want me to or not. I really like the gold pen you used on your plaid.
