I made this card for our wonderful new Son-in-law (since January); he is getting out of the Marines this month after faithfully serving and definitely sacrificing. He and our DD have waited patiently to begin this new chapter in their life together.
For the sketch, I used a star in place of the circle and hung a point off the edge. The blue star is white embossed and die-cut, then layered on a larger die-cut red star & popped up on Dimensionals. I crossed the card base with a paper strip and washi tape for the stars & stripes. Terrific sketch! Hope you can play along. I look forward to seeing what everyone creates. Thanks for looking.

FANTASTIC use of this challenging sketch!!! You balanced the patriotic color scheme SO well, too!
THANK YOU to your son in law for his sacrifice and service for each of us in this beautiful country! God bless him and I am SO happy to hear he and your daughter get to start a new, more "normal" chapter of their life together!

Just an outstanding patriotic card. That bold, layered star is a standout and what a great idea to incorporate the Washi tape into the criss cross layers. The very best wishes to your daughter and son-in-law as he returns to civilian life!
