 | | For the Love a Technique challenge in our Staycation/Vacation theme, I chose the Watercolor Imprints tutorial by Dina Kowal. Watercolor Imprints Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers I absolutely love this tutorial, and how my background came out. I wanted to have a grass & sky background, because the Spirit of Boise balloon festival happens at the end of every August and goes perfectly with our theme. We don't live in Boise anymore, but I miss it and think fondly every August of the balloon festival.
I made my own stencil from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies (the big wave thinlit) and a Window Sheet. I cut three of the stencils and just laid them out on the paper in succession. I didn't want the grass to be swirly, so I didn't cover that part with the stencil before I spritzed the paper.
After my background was dry, I smooshed on some embossing paste through the clouds in the Pattern Party masks, then sprinkled the paste with glitter while it was still wet.
More details are on my blog.
