First thank you all for years of inspiration. I finally got up the nerve to add a card to the mix. I used the shaving cream stencil technique for the water. Thought it needed more depth so sponged in "underwater" turtles from a negative silhouette file. Stamped and cut out the Hero arts turtle and the cottage cutz die. It has some "splash" added to the sand with a pearl white paint and a little more color with the silhouette shell.

Well, a very warm welcome and congratulations on your first upload! We ALL know how unnerving it can be, but you are among friends and hopefully will enjoy uploading more cards. I love your turtle and beach card and the amazing way you've achieved the shadow of the turtle in the water. I live in South Florida, and our waters are clear. So we can see shadows of fish and turtles swimming. I love it!
You have been around SCS for a very long time (nearly as long as I have...wow, I didn't realize how long I've been here...haha!). I'm so glad you've been so inspired, and I know you will be encouraged as you post more cards and start to comment on others' cards and make friends. Perhaps you might consider joining a challenge found on the Home Page. I hope that will be your next big step...perhaps? Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely work! Hugs!

My favorite kind of card this summer, beach cards. Your water looks great and I really like the shadow of the turtle. Your bottle in the sand is so interesting...love that. Welcome to the gallery. Hope you load many more cards.

Congrats on the first upload and wow are you off to a great start. Wonderful use of the shaving cream stenciling and great details. I especially love the ocean "foam" on the sand and the message in the bottle buried in the sand. Fantastic!

First of all, I would like to thank you so much for taking the time to leave a really nice comment the other day on my Lilac's in a Vase card. You have no idea how I appreciate that. Secondly, I want to tell you how impressed I am with your first card on SCS. I too was a "newbie" on SCS at one time and felt that my cards were beginner cards and probably not worthy to post. But then I thought, maybe if I kept scanning SCS cards everyday, I would learn maybe something new everyday about card making and I did. I started card making eleven years ago and I still, to this day, have such a passion to make cards. My favorite stamp companies are Papertrey Ink and I suggest you subscribe to the Papertrey Ink blog and check out the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday videos. I have learned a lot from those videos. I also love the PowerPoppy stamp company, subscribe to that blog too for ideas and inspiration. Don't give up.
Now getting back to your card.........I give you credit for trying a new technique. I think the water looks really good. I would have never thought to make a turtle shadow and now you have taught me something today, seriously. Plus you colored that turtle really well.
Don't be hard on yourself. You definitely have the potential. If you have any questions just send me a note through SCS Thanks again for taking the time to leave a nice comment about my card

Oh my gosh, this is fabulous! The turtle is beautifully colored, the stenciled water wonderful , and that bottle is too cute for words. However, those turtle shadows in the water are AMAZING!!!! That’s exactly what it would look like in real life on a sunny day, and those turtles come right up to shore to feed, just like this guy.
This brings back memories of special days at the beach and I am popping it into my favs so I look at it again. Fun card! TFS!

There's a whole lot of something special going on in this scene! I really love the shadows in the water, the foam along the shore and that great bottle! You have really captured the ocean so well here. I love it!
