Hi, sweet friends! Wow, it's hard to believe we have one more week of April...spring must be popping up all over! The newest Power Poppy digi is a beauty, and she sure wanted to be center stage on my card! With all the amazing detail of this image, I just could not size this down too much. And then I braved the no-line coloring technique again. I enrolled in one of Kit and Clowder's video classes back in March using Power Poppy images, and I learned a lot.
Having watched the Kit and Clowder video and watched Kathy Racoosin's videos about coloring, I braved it...but still need a lot of practice. But that's the fun, right? Always learning.
For this card I decided what my layout was going to be ahead of time...surprise! It helped me a lot. So I opened my flower image in GIMP, lightened it to a pale gray, and printed it out. After I finished coloring, I decided to fussy cut it and use a couple of tools to burnish the back to give it some dimension. Then I die cut two of the split chevron dies, adhered them together, and added it to the pink card base. I stamped a sweet sentiment on a cute ragged-edge die cut and curled it a bit before adding it to the "lattice" for my flower. I added some thin foam squares in the outer areas of the flower and leaves and some thicker foam to the inside and placed the flower onto the "lattice." And...it was done! I was going to add some sequins or something and decided not to. So ready or not, here she is! Hehe!
Thank you so, so much for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week! Hugs, all!
And I just remembered that this card surely fits this month's Dirty Dozen theme...how I do love my flowers...and it's no real secret! Hehe!

This image is so detailed for doing that technique, wow, great work! Love the bg die too, so fun and does not detract from your beautiful flower!
Beautiful card my dear friend!

This beauty caught my eye right away as I was scanning the SCS recent uploads. Beautiful card, Cheryl. My sweet friend....you don't need a lot of practice when it comes to coloring!!!!! I love your Copic colored card creations.
P.S. Thanks so much for leaving those nice comments on my cards. I promise I will send you a personal message soon. Lots to catch up on with both of us.

WOW Cheryl, this is a beauty. It is so detailed I can understand why you wanted to keep it on the larger size. Your colouring details are beautiful as always my friend. Fabulous!

Oh, what a yummy peony and wonderful no line coloring. I love your dies. Your sentiment die really caught my eye....where have I been that I haven't seen that? Looks like something to put on a "must have" list. Beautiful work and card, Cheryl.

WOW WOW....I am truly in awe of the way you have covered this peony....each petal shows such exacting skill with shading and colors, Cheryl. The bg cover-all die cut adds interest, but doesn't distract from your beautiful flower.
