Hi, sweet friends! Wow, it's hard to believe we have one more week of April...spring must be popping up all over! The newest Power Poppy digi is a beauty, and she sure wanted to be center stage on my card! With all the amazing detail of this image, I just could not size this down too much. And then I braved the no-line coloring technique again. I enrolled in one of Kit and Clowder's video classes back in March using Power Poppy images, and I learned a lot.
Having watched the Kit and Clowder video and watched Kathy Racoosin's videos about coloring, I braved it...but still need a lot of practice. But that's the fun, right? Always learning.
For this card I decided what my layout was going to be ahead of time...surprise! It helped me a lot. So I opened my flower image in GIMP, lightened it to a pale gray, and printed it out. After I finished coloring, I decided to fussy cut it and use a couple of tools to burnish the back to give it some dimension. Then I die cut two of the split chevron dies, adhered them together, and added it to the pink card base. I stamped a sweet sentiment on a cute ragged-edge die cut and curled it a bit before adding it to the "lattice" for my flower. I added some thin foam squares in the outer areas of the flower and leaves and some thicker foam to the inside and placed the flower onto the "lattice." And...it was done! I was going to add some sequins or something and decided not to. So ready or not, here she is! Hehe!
Thank you so, so much for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week! Hugs, all!
And I just remembered that this card surely fits this month's Dirty Dozen theme...how I do love my flowers...and it's no real secret! Hehe!

Great use of the technique Cheryl. It sounds too scary to me. LOL! As always, your card is an exquisite gem. I hope to see lots more in May to gaze upon. I will try my best too. Take care - your grasshopper 4-evah!

Your no line coloring - like everything else you do- is perfection. Thus flower looks so real I want you smell it. Great idea for the lattice. Your cards are always a treat to look at.
