Roberta is our hostess in the Color Challenge today, and she has asked us to make a card or other project using Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon and Pistachio Pudding. The dessert option is embossing—heat or dry.

I am excited about the new papers and stencils from Concord & 9th. Sometimes I would like to use patterned paper, but I don't have the right colors for the challenge. Problem solved! These papers are mostly gray (neutrals are always allowed in our challenge), with blank areas where you can sponge ink in the color of your choice. There are two stencils, so you can get a 2-step color look. I used them for the patterned part of my card today.

I sponged the larger flower areas through the first stencil with Lost Lagoon, and then used the other stencil to sponge a darker center to the flowers, using Island Indigo ink. I used a Prismacolor pencil in a very light green to fill in the white stripes so that they would be close to the Pistachio color.

Always needing dessert, I stamped my sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink, using my Misti. After stamping twice, I cleaned off the stamp, covered it with VersaMark ink, and then overstamped. Sprinkled the stamped area with clear embossing powder, and then heat embossed. It's a great way to get that heat embossed shine with any dye ink!

After die cutting the elements, I added some Lost Lagoon ribbon and assembled the card. For a finishing touch, I added three sequins and covered the flowers and leaves with Wink of Stella!

Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
