This is my card for SC629. I liked the design when others did it but I'm not sure I like it when I did it. My basic idea was to create a white card with some black and red elements -- black cats, red hearts... and it would work somehow.
The inch-square cats were too black, even with the hearts. So, to counter that, I took red paper and made the curve. (Initially that was going to be red baker's twine.) But it was to red, so I stencilled on the white hearts (and then embossed them with white). That would have worked better but the stencil is very regular patterned. I think if I had remember the punch with a more random layout of hearts, that would have been better.
Once I got that done, the front of the card still was blah, so I embossed cat paw prints on it, and then added (by hand) the thin line (frame) around the cats and along the curve.
At which point I was out of things to try, so I stopped.

Fabulous use of the sketch! Love the kittens with the hand-drawn frames and red hearts. The paw print background is terrific. Love the curve with the heart paper behind it. Well done! You have good instincts, trust your creativity. Love your take on the sketch and the colors. TFS

Oh you are funny!! I have those cats......never used them........and they work with the RED strip. I am a big fan of white ep, so I really like that. Of course, anything with RED appeals to me....and I like all the texture. Keep up that sense of humor. There's not enough of that going around these days!
