 | | I finally purchased a Martha Stewart branch punch after drooling over things people have made with it for YEARS! The beautiful trees made during Falliday Fest were the tipping point. I have carpal tunnel though and didn't want to punch through cardstock so I was going to use book pages but was too lazy to go downstairs and fetch some. Instead I took a newspaper-like sales circular that had snowy, icy trees and punched a kajillion branches. I used Kitty's tutorial cutting my tree shape from an index card. I kind of wish I had stopped there because the tree looked more natural in that state but I decided to do a "light spray" of the green only my spray bottle had different ideas and spurted out a heavier stream. I dried the now quite green tree and then sprayed with a white shimmer spray. Today when I saw the challenges I decided to turn my tree into a card. I started by cutting my drifts out of glitter paper. I punched some snowflakes out of the same and added gem centers. I used my Versamarker to ink only the words on my stamp and embossed in silver. Before I adhered my tree I sprayed it once more with adhesive spray then poured white microbeads over it for more snow. I popped the tree with dimensionals and curved the fore drift and popped it with foam circles. Not one I'd mass produce but will go to a fellow stamper. |
