OK, HUGE thanks to Liz for letting me use a partial picture of her quilt for the background. She is truly the Queen of Quilts. Official credit:
Photo detail of Garden Rendezvous Reimagined, a hexified panel quilt designed, made and quilted by Liz Granberg of Gypsy Dreamer Quilts, 2016
I printed a picture of part of Liz's quilt, then cut to size for the background. I colored the House Mouse image (and I desperately would like MORE of this image, if anyone has the stamp???) with the Inktense pencils, then used a paintbrush to bring them to life with water. Fussy cut the image out, layered it onto lilac metallic cs, then mounted with dimensionals onto card. I added a strip of paper lace to the side, and split 2 small wooden spools in half, wound variegated metallic thread onto the half spools, and mounted those onto the paper lace.
I am SO in love with this card, but I owe that to Liz, as her quilt was the inspiration for the card.
she is a prize-winning quilter, also has awards for other sewing, notably smocking. Thanks again, Liz, for allowing me to post this!

That is one beautiful quilt! Love your coloring on the House Mouse image. But it worries me that the one mouse looks like he is eating the quilt!!! Adorable card.

Now that's the way to use a digitally image, especially one belonging to a friend of yours. What a wonderful memory keeper for both of you. Beautifully done.

Pat, this House Mouse image of these mice quilting is simply too cute. I really love how you layered this wonderful image on top of a picture of a real quilt by a talented quilt maker. What an amazing tribute to do for someone. I also love the little spools of thread along the side of the card. Very impressive indeed! ~Karen.

Ah, Pat, that quilt is certainly a beauty! Your lovely house mouse image is coloured so wonderfully. They are adorable. I love how you freehand cut around the image and then did the same with the mat.......it's hard to get those even. The half spools are so cool, with the meral thread wrapped around them, and the hearts..........a great finishing touch.

Creative card. Such a cute quilt-making image and gorgeous quilt picture. How clever you are! I wouldn't have thought to take a picture of a real quilt. It adds a whole new level to backgrounds! Love your thread spool idea. Outstanding accent!! You rocked this challenge! TFS
