For the background I stamped with a pine cone and copper acrylic paint randomly. I wanted to see how some acrylic ink I had would work for stamping. So I stamped on a scrap. I liked it so well I colored the sky with blue chalk and added some iridescent paint on the trees along with some glitter. Then cut it using a Spellbinder die. Since it was a scrap it wasn't large enough to cut out a full oval but I love the result. :-)
I took a scrap of Christmas card stock and was going to heat emboss but it didn't stamp right. I decided to restamp on the scrap with Stazon Timber brown ink. where the versamark ink was the Stazon didn't adhere but I love a little bit of the pattern sowing through. I then tied a scrap of red yarn around the neck.
The sentiment was one I had stamped for another project but decided to not use it.
By the way I'm the queen of frugal. ;-)

I'm not the Queen of Frugal, but I might be the Princess of Cheap, lol... I love how adventurous you are with trying things out and actually using the results - great card! You've inspired me to go play (thank you)...
