I've just about finished the invitations for my future DIL's shower that my daughters and I are hosting. I had colored this cactus first to try it out and then punched it out. (They're using succulents for their flowers) When I saw today's sketch I thought it would be fun to make my shower card using the same image as I'd used on the invitations. At one point I'd considered using the heart bg on the invites so I already had the bg piece embossed (I'm using the back side for a de-bossed look) The image was inked with markers so I could omit the flower. I used my marker to close off the cactus arm where the flower had been. I watercolored by scribbling my markers on acetate and spritzing with water then painting from there. I stamped in my hearts. I used my markers to add back in a little bit of detail. I stamped the sentiment and layered my circle over a plum circle that I diecut and embossed. Thanks for a fun sketch....I'm ahead of the game now (at least with the card....so much more to get ready for the shower itself!)
