Oh My Gosh.. .what a great new product from Art Impressions - the Utility Knife Die. I couldn't wait to use it and I am entering this card into their "Add a Brad" Challenge #181. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".
This is a birthday card for a nephew. My husband's sense of humor kicked in and he came up with the "what a tool" sentiment which I printed from the computer and then diecut. On the inside, we matched that pun by adding "But we love you anyway. Happy Birthday!" Our nephew is in his 30's so I'm sure he'll get a chuckle from this card.
I was ecstatic when I found this paper. It's actually a defect! The pack of paper is solid colored cardstock and smack in the middle was this one splattered page. How cool was that, that it looked like paint-stained denim?
I kept the card design fairly simple so that the utility knife would showcase. There is a row of double stitching around the outside edge. I debated adding crystal effects to the entire red utility knife in order to make it look more 3D and shiny, just like the actual swiss army knives; but decided against it and went with a sure thing.
I know I will get much use from this die and I have the feminine version on my wish list.
Thanks for looking.
