Congrats to Michele for being selected FS this week. I am so happy I had time to play. I have wanted to try doing some background techniques, but have been too scared. Since I saw Michele had done some on her cards, I decided to give it a whirl!
I just used the distressed stamp pads on acrylic, spritz and stamp. I then sponged some of the places in between. It is hard for me to not have a uniform look, but my goal is to try some new techniques this year.
I heat embossed the tree and the sentiment and added a sprig on the side. I didn't feel it needed any further embellishments as it came out vibrant with just the background colors matted on black.
I didn't really use one particular card. I was looking more for the technique, but I chose this one:

You did a beautiful job, Pam, despite that fact that it was out of you comfort zone! This background is beautiful and a perfect backdrop for you embossed focal point.

That background is AWESOME; absolutely awesome! You did great; I'm afraid I would 'muddy' those colors; I'm horrible at allowing my colors to dry b4 applying a new one...

Well you sneaked this one in on me. Where have I been? Wow! I think you did a fabulous background and isn't it fun? You'll have so much fun trying a lot of new techniques this year.
