What a nice surprise to see Lydia hosting the IC today and a big Happy Birthday to Audrie.
I tried Lydia's technique with a large roll of Eclipse tape I had on hand and water color paints. It didn't work for me. I now need that frog tape she used, lol. The next best thing for me to try was to make my own stencil with the Memory Box butterfly collage die. I also ended up using Tim Holtz distress inks instead of watercolors. I liked how the stencil looked after I used it so I cut around the butterflies to use it on another card. A butterfly wasn't my inspiration this morning, it was the white space detail in this Leopard. I die cut several bodies from two different Memory Box butterfly dies, doubled them up and adhered them to my butterfly wings.
Thanks for looking

What an awesome result from having no luck with your first try! Your colours are gorgeous and I like each one better than the other! :-) Beautiful set of cards!

Smart, creative and clever YOU, Irene. (I always knew you were VERY clever). Two lovely cards from one die cut. The butterflies make universally appealing subject matter.

Oh my goodness these are beyond stunning. I love them both so much - and am especially drawn to the embossed sentiment on the second. These are so so gorgeous! Hugs
