This is for Audrie & Polly's terrific button challenge and Marilynn's fun and incredibly messy, mixed media challenge, tie dye tissue.
The buttons that inspired Princess Polly the mermaid are the last sample chosen by Audrie.
I didn't have any tissue paper, but I do have some fabulous sheets of deli paper that the lovely Stacy (JBgreendawn) sent me all the way from America.
I started by lightly spritzing water onto both sides of the deli paper then scrunch it up. On a sheet of aluminium foil spritz some dylusions ink spray and add a few drops of Izinks - blast this with a lot of water. Dab the scrunched up deli paper into the watery puddle, changing direction each time.
At this point I pegged the deli paper on the clothes line to quickly dry - I thought it might melt if I used a heat gun.
Once dry, adhere deli paper to a piece of cardstock that has been completely covered with a glue stick. Once dry cut the panel to the desired size - I decided to make this a tag.
Colour image with distress inks and Inktense water colour pencils, fussy cut and attach to tag. Stick on buttons, doodle, add a few stamps and some net ribbon.
A few lengths of diamentes were added, it doesnt show well in the photo but they were coloured with Copics.
Thank you for looking.

WOW where to begin?!! I love it...not just because you've got me to a "t" ...love the booby buttons (lol), but you've combined some wonderful techniques, used interesting materials (I have deli paper..it's great for Gelli printing and to keep your ham fresh)..btw I had to look up diamentes .....diamonds?? ...the button tail/flipper part is outstanding and is a wonderful respresentation of your inspiration piece. You are a creative master (mistress? I always feel funny using that word..)..I am but a mere grasshopper in your shadow...

Oh, my gosh, this is unbelievably creative and so darn cute! You nailed the inspiration piece, and the background is fabulous - but not quite as fabulous as the button bosoms! Love it!
