This card was inspired by THIS PAINTING. It is not a very good photo of the card, you can't see that some of the paint is metallic for one thing, but I recently implemented a new Save-Robin's-Sanity policy which limits me to taking no more than half a dozen shots of any one card and then just using the best one.
I was inspired by the riotous colors of the painting to do a card using some of my collage papers to create a riotously colored floral of my own. The papers are made using my Gellli plate, but I also then stencil over the plate pulls, fling and scrape paint on them, etc. This card used pieces of several of my 9X12 papers. I discovered two things while making this - the first was that Ranger Archival Ink will dry beautifully when stamped over acrylic paint. Yay. The second was that the cheap drawing paper I use for these papers won't lie flat when stuck down with dimensionals like cardstock, even when reinforced by cardstock. Hence the wavy-curvy effect of the two large flowers (also something not so easy to see in the photo). I have been advised to say that I did this on purpose, that it was a textural effect I intended to achieve, but I cannot tell a fib. It was an accident, happy or not, you decide.
I've been meaning to try to work with my handmade papers more, but not many of my stamps go well with them. (I think that means I must buy some new stamps, uh oh.)
Thanks for this fun challenge and TFL!

I can relate to your photo policy...I had my own period of frustration trying to photograph my card. I also know about the warping of cheaper paper...grrrrr..now on to your beautiful card. I love your gelli bg..great color and the PTI scribbled circles work wonderfully for a more abstract design. I love how you used those weird yarn pieces...very creative and adds so much to the overall piece. Glad you played along today...I can tell you had fun (except for the irritating photo session..)

Great bkgrd and fab flowers! Like your colors and design. I agree with you and Polly. Six scans are my limit and if I can EVER get my camera to communicate with my ancient computer to download photos, that's gonna be the new rule, too.

LOL at the photo policy! I would love the space to be able to leave my mini studio and lights set up permanently, especially now with early evenings drawing in. I think the wavy effect looks good, though I would have been frustrated by it- I try to remember to use tape not wet glue for similar occasions. I've come to the conclusion that glue makes a huge difference, too. I had to start a Jacob's Ladder all over again last week because I used not my normal glue to adhere paper to the coasters, and they had warped too much to stick together properly.
I love your big bold blooms and the twine. Beautiful colours, too; the rich deep yellow flowers are my favourite but the little red ones make me smile.
