As soon as I saw Kylie Purtell's new Happy Little Stampers April Sketch Challenge I thought of Brushos. They worked out great. I got just the look I was hoping for with the brilliant colors and enough white areas to make the image very interesting.
I just spritzed with water my non-stick craft sheet, a must have for watercoloring :-) I then sprinkled a spot on my sheet with yellow, another with Leaf Green and then a spot on the sheet with Emerald Green and used my palette knife to blend the crystals (like a course powder)on the sheet without mixing the colors.
Then I just went from light to dark colors "Smacking" my W/C paper onto the inks until I got the effect I wanted. I always start with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of W/C paper so I can use all or some of the finished piece. I knew I was going to use a smaller panel, so just cut out my favorite section and used another smaller piece for the inside of my card. I always save any extra pieces to use with punches or dies :-)
My card is also for the ongoing Anything Goes STAMPlorations Challenge as long as you use a STAMPloration product. My Bold Sentiment "you are so Creative" was my product :-)
Enjoy and thank you again Kylie for always Inspiring Us. Love your HLS and Challenges :-) Be sure and check out Loll Thompson's HLS April CAS Stenciling Challenge this month too :-)
Happy Easter to you all....

Oh Nancy I do wish you would STOP making these drop dead gorgeous brusho/bister cards, these products are still on back order here in the land downunder. Seriously my friend, this is fabulous.

Nancy! LOVE this technique with the brushos. As mine are still new and I didn't have much time to play with them before I went on holiday, I think I better get into my craft room and play RIGHT NOW! Gorgeous colours, design and take on the sketch. Thanks for all your support at my challenge blogs. You are just awesome. Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers xx

Yummy, rich shades of green--how gorgeous! Bordering it with black was the perfect way to anchor it and to really make those colors stand out. Love the antique-looking button and lace.
