Sabrina challenged us to use "something from the kitchen" to make a card, so I tried my hand at some lemon juice stamping - stamp with lemon juice, then heat it with a heat gun so it "burns" and shows up. That's how I made my woodgrain background. I thought that the heart-shaped knot in the wood was so cute that I HAD to buy the stamp! I stamped a couple more in red to tear out and use as embellishments. In the interest of continuing with my "use it or lose it" mentality, I also broke out a deckle-edge tearing ruler. I thought that torn edges were more in keeping with the adorable beaver (LOVE Stacey's designs!) than clean-cut edges would be...

Goodness, I've never even heard of that! I had some vague idea that you could use lemon juice for invisible writing which would show when you heated it, so I guess it's an extension of that. And it looks fabulous! Timber came here last week, I still need to get him inky (I think I could make it another USEIT month's resolution to use more PO stamps!!). The woodgrain image with the heart in it is great! And yes, the torn edges work well with the idea of a beaver gnawing it .
