I used the HC Garden Romance die to cut out the birdhouse. I used the stamp for detail but simply cut out all the pieces and made them 3D. I used the craft knife to separate a portion of the roof and bottom to color with chipped sapphire DI crackle paint. I used the poinsettia die, first cutting a green layer for the leaves, then 2 more layers for the petals.
Yesterday, I had 12 hours here in the studio. And yes...I changed the name from 'craft room' to 'studio'. Not only does it sound more high-falutin', as my grandma Crabtree would say, but I think it sounds better to defend the cash I'm spending as going to the things I produce "in studio" than "in the craftroom".
Hey...semantics can be VERY important, people. For example...I'm not fat...I'm fluffy. I'm no old, I'm aged to perfection. I'm not a former juvenile delinquent, I had an 'exciting and varied childhood with a passion for all things having to do with the Law".
PAM: (pre-adderall moment) At the scrapbook convention this weekend, a woman told me of a shirt I HAVE to have. It says, "When I die, please don't let my husband sell my stuff for what I told him it cost." BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Back to the matters at hand. I popped all those elements up on the decorative oval and popped THAT up on my base. I'm really digging that weathered technique, although it took me about 3 tries to get it right. Chipboard did NOT work. I used cardboard from a box, as Kittie suggested, and it worked like a charm.
12 hours in studio yesterday and got NOTHING done. Let me see if today will be a little different. If not, I'll hit the wine earlier and go wandering through the galleries.
It's a win either way. ;)

LOVE this card in traditional Christmas colors...REALLY loved reading your details.. your creative process ROCKS! The intenseness of the red against the Old Olive (MY favorite) green is a delight for the eyes. Your birdhouse is awesome!
