Based on the requirements of the challenge, I thought I would use the medium I love working with the best - my computer. I had a digital Rose stamp that I converted from a jpeg to a png by adding a transparency to the background of the image (using Gimp). Doing this allowed me to fill the transparent areas of the rose with the pattern (Candy Kisses) and fill the leafs with green. Once this was done, I printed the image and used the Spellbinders die to cut both the image and the background scallop behind it. I added some Stickles glitter to the rose to highlight it, cut two layers of paper matching the colors in the pattern, and one layer of the pattern itself and attached it all to the base of the card.
I finished the card by adding a ribbon I had in my stash as an embellishment.

BEAUTIFUL card!!! I love these polka-dots, and such a vibrant card--wonderful!!!
Congratulations on having a card chosen as a Favorite for the past week--I understand the pure excitement of this happening for the first time, as this happened to me a few weeks ago too. I love it that ANYONE'S CARD can be chosen here, and that the community at SCS is so supportive of everyone with that same passion to create and to improve our craft. This is a great place!!!
Just wanted to congratulate you, plus I love your amazing card--you have amazing talent and I look forward to seeing what you create here. Thanks so much for sharing this!!!

Joanne,
Yes, I'm thrilled! Thank you for your well wishes. I have been a part of Splitcoaststampers for so many years (since '0 and I never took part in any of their challenges. (Actually, I did participate once in their Christmas "Hope you can cling to" challenge. This whole experience is enticing and I look forward to taking part in many more challenges (as time permits my busy schedule).
