This is for the MMTPT307 to replace Mary's photos from her trip. First the card details and then the amazing story of what happened. The house and trees are the stamp, but I felt it needed more. I sponged faded jeans and black soot with my cloud stencil to fill the top space in. I masked under the cottage and sponged vintage photo and rusty hinge to create some depth. The vines are from a SU set that I don't know the name of, but it was a window with vines. The cottage and trees are first painted with water color paints and then details were added with prisma pencils and gamisol. The wood panel was made by using the direct to paper technique with distress vintage photo, rusty hinge and faded jeand. I ran it through the Big Shot with a wood ef then applied walnut stain to the raised parts. Now, the story. Cousin Harold and Ethel took this photo before leaving to take Mary to the airport. She had had a fabulous visit, but Harold and Ethel were so busy with Mary that they did not give Fred their cow his usual amount of attention. Well, now they went off to the airport without even a wave goodby to Fred. Fred's very famous, or more correctly, infamous third cousin, was Mrs O'leary's cow (the one from Chicago). Well, I guess that knocking over lanterns must be genetic. Luckily, Fred got out of the barn and far away before the fire burnt down the barn and the cottage. However, don't feel bad for Harold and Ethel. They were tired of living in the country and yearned for the excitment of city life. With the generous insurance money from the loss of their cottage they bought a beautiful house in the center of London. Instead of ending up as Christmad dinner, Fred is the hero and still lives with Harold and Ethel. He is enjoying his new diet of the neighbors flowers and says that they taste much better than that dry hay in the country. He has many friends among the local dogs and cats. The wood piece behind this photo was all that remained after the fire and Harold and Ethel decided to send it to Mary along with the photo. TFL, Francie

I knew I'd approved this earlier so I was surprised not to find it in the TPT gallery - so I've put the right keyword in for you and it will show up there pretty soon ;-).
Love your story!! But, having lived and worked in London myself, I sort of wonder where there is room for Fred! Those thatched rooves are certainly a fire liability! My aunt changed hers for a tiled roof because the insurance premiums were just so high. But aren't they pretty - pretty as a picture, you could say. I'm intrigued that you used Faded Jeans in your wood, I'll have to try that. I was just admiring one of your cards that's saved in my Favourites that you used the same folder for.

Oh my, that story sure had a twist I didn't expect. As long as everyone is happy, but it's sad such a charming scene burned to the ground. Your sponging really makes this scene come to life -- your cloud work is superb.
