This is my card for this week's CC474. Karen chose very vanilla, pink pirouette and pistachio pudding for colors. Dessert is no stamping.
When Karen sent us the colors and dessert, I knew I was going to do some sort of mixed media stenciling. Something way out of my comfort zone.
I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and some gloss gel medium on very vanilla cardstock. Before it dried I sprayed some Heidi Swapp seafoam color shine. IRL it has a great gloss that isn't picked up real well in the photo.
I went to my stash and found these embossed tulip designs I bought from QVC ages ago. I die cut a butterfly and my birthday word to complete my card.
Thanks for a great challenge Karen.
Hope you can play along this week and next. We are having a contest looking for 4 guest designers and a guest hostess. See all the details here.

Fun b'day card with the bright colored bunch of tulips, Mary. I like the bg you created and I know that "shine" is hard to capture with a camera.....sometimes if you try, it just ends up being a "glare". The die cut butterfly is so delicate and a pretty addition.

So fun! I love the contrast of bright colors and subtle, beautifully stenciled background!
