I have never entered the teapot challenge, but when I read about Kathleen's illiness I just had to make her a card to let her know that I care. The problem was that I kept looking through the huge notebook where I stamp a sample of each stamp when I buy it, and nothing seemed right. Then, on my lunch break yesterday I went to the little park by my work and sat by the lake and watched the birds (herons, egrets, ducks and geese) tussel for the title of "King of the rock" in the center of the lake. Boy did I laugh. Which made me think that I wanted to send Kathleen some laughter. So when I got home I found this bird that I drew a few months ago and colored him with copics
....something old that is new for the WT473. Then I checked the SC482 and the layout was perfect. Inside I included this hint for Kathlern's husband. 12 years ago when I had a very tough battle with breast cancer my husband had the cleaver idea of putting 2 thumb tacks in the wall across from my bed and stringing dental floss between them ( I am a dental hygienist so we have a lot of floss). Each day my kids, who were young, picked cards and put them over the floss...some days it was all cards with flowers, or cards that were yellow etc. Great way to display all these cards that the people who care about Kathleen at SPS have made.

Francie, I saved this to My Favs the split second I saw it. I laughed and smiled, then I read your comments, now I'm having a little cry. Thank you for sharing your story. We are blessed to have you at the Teaparty.

Wonderful hand drawn image! Even the bird king of the hill has a heart for Kathleen. Quieting yourself allowed you to see just what she needed. And, it gave you time to relax and regroup before going back to the office. Thank you for sharing your talent with us today.

Oh my!! You drew that bird? Awesome! I almost felt like I was there watching those birds with you! Absolutely fabulous idea for hanging cards so that they can be seen when ill! LOVE the idea of changing them out as a theme! Congrats on winning your battle with breast cancer! I so enjoy visiting your gallery and reading your comments on my cards!
