yes, this really did begin as a piece of white mixed media paper! And since our high today in the Willamette Valley is due to be 45 degrees, this card is for the warm side of the color wheel! Thanks Linda for the thoughtful and different Ways To challenge.
And in keeping with my New Years resolution to use more messy, artisty, media, oh and did I mention messy yet! I have bungled through my very first true mixed media project. Thanks for the hand holding encouragement, Shadow's Mom. And to Jackie Pedro and Dina Kowal for their outstanding tutorial on Layered Gesso...I have now accomplished this very, very fun technique and I have a feeling it's just the beginning of more mess in my studio.
My heart is taking wing today, it should get plenty of lift from the hot, hot temps...(just kidding)!
Can't wait to see what temps show up in the gallery today...stay warm OR cool my friends!

Ha...how funny we should end up next to each other in the gallery, Susan! I'd say your heart and your art have both taken wing...this is absolutely wonderful! You've achieved great depth on your background...and love those wings....beautiful! Ha...we even used the same template today...too funny!

Wings on your heart is such a great idea. I love the idea. Great BG and just so you know, 45 degrees WOULD be a heat wave HERE. Enjoy it. I am not poking my nose out today.
