This is the mate for my happy snow lady -posted last week. I bought a bag of wood pieces at the craft store - enough for 4 snowmen for less than $4. You can make these any size you like. Sanded all corners and edges of a large and a small block of wood. Used gesso and a sponge aplicator for a thin whitewashed coating. Colored the top half of the small piece with black sharpie. Lightly sand the edges for a wheathered look. Cut two pieces of taupe cardstock and heat embossed different patterned background stamps. Distressed the edges and sponged with tea dye ink. Gluer to the larger wood block. Used 3 black embellishments for the buttons. Made a hole on each side with a nail and glued two twigs (from the backyard) for the arms. Cut a long thin piece of grey felt, folded it in half, and stuck 3 brads through it. Glued around the edge where the black sharpie ended for the hat. Drew the face with black sharpie then used a nail to make a hole for the nose. Colored the end of a meat skewer orange and glued it into the hole. Cut a piece of tan felt and sponged the edges with brown ink. Cut the edges for fringe and glued on.
