I've been meaning to try the Technique Lover's Challenge "Inlay Die Cuts" ever since it was posted two weeks ago. Finally got around to it! It works well with the November Christmas Card Challenge to use scraps.
I followed the technique on TLC452 with strips of leftover dp, then cut out my holly die from it. I took a piece of red cs and cut out the same die from it, and then inlaid the holly die cut onto it, border it with a bit of one of the dps and mounted it on a cream cardbase. I used the mixed dp piece leftover after diecutting the holly to layer over green glitter cs to get a second card out of the process as suggested in the challenge. Neat idea, Dawn - thanks for the challenge!
p.s. Looked more closely at the photo and it looks like the "Merry Christmas" is smudged or smeared but checked the card and it's not - sorry about the poor photo quality.

So pretty Susan, you've done a fabulous job with this technique... How great to get two cards out of one die cut, love that you chose the dp for the one and the glitter backing for the other... very nice
I LOVE the one on the right, with the sparkly negative space. The one on the right is really nice with the red layer, which really sets off the die cut colors nicely.
