Inspired by this card by Calico. It's rare for me to CASE a card, but I loved that one.
I made this for the current ODBD challenge to be inspired by music or a song. It's destined to be a non-traditional Thanksgiving card for a friend, since she's probably had my two Thanksgiving stamps at least twice each already.
I made it 7" x 5" as I wanted to use as much as possible of my resist panel and still add the verse from the hymn. It always reminds me of a lovely couple who used to be in our church - it was one of the hymns I played at Peg's funeral. We don't do a traditional Christmas dinner ourselves, but she would always have us round for a meal in December and give us turkey and ham and all the trimmings. I still miss that, all these years later!
Stamped the leaves in Versamark, embossed with clear EP. Misted the paper heavily and brushed with Broken China. Stamped the IO Reverse Damask with Faded Jeans. It's layered on black.
Leaf is cut from watercolour card, and is a pared-down take on THIS TUTORIAL. I used various distress inks, UTEE and a gold pen, but kept it flat to be easy to mail.

Oh, Sabrina, this is gorgeous! Love all the techniques you've incorporated, but I LOVE the song that inspired you! It's definitely a favorite of mine that I can still recall my precious dad sing! (He's with the Lord now!) What a precious reminder! Thanks, sweet friend! So glad you posted for this week's Shining the Light challenge! Hugs!
