For Kathleen's challenge to make a card honoring elders. Okay, so this card has some history. My grandmother is 82. For her 80th birthdayshe had a big blowout. There was a DJ, photographer, it was quite a shindig. It was decorated like an old-fashioned Italian restaurant (think Lady and the Tramp) complete with red checkered table cloths. I made about 130 treat toppers with this circle image on it and then gave the stamp set to a friend. When I was digging in my craft room I ran across this one and I still had a scrap of the checked paper left. I had to add the ribbon partly to get the gold in and partly because nothing lives in my craft room that long unscathed so there's a smudge it's covering. ;) The green ribbon is leftover from a wedding we went to a few years ago and I went around collecting it off the tables.

Awww, that is such a wonderful story!!! I LOVE that you are sharing this fantastic card made with such meaningful card parts (I didn't want to say scraps or leftovers, because it really is so special!) I have no doubt you helped make that a fabulous way for your grandmother to turn 80! I mean 130 toppers...wow!!! You get bonus points too! Thank you very much for sharing about your dear grandmother and her birthday and making this very pretty card for my HYCCT challenge!!!

What a fabulous card to honor your grandmother! How cool that you could locate this centerpiece and you had a scrap of checked paper left too! Perfect card for this challenge!
