Matchbook-style gift card holder
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: andib_75

This is for the October 2013 Stampin' Up! Creative Crew challenges - Holiday focus: Wear Something Gaudy Day is on 10/17. Use your gaudiest colors to create a gift card holder.

Since gaudiness is in the eyes of the beholder, I decided to select a group of colors that I typically wouldn't wear together: Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and a little Gumball Green. But to be honest, I really like them together on this card. I used a basic matchbook-style card for my gift card holder - a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock scored and folded at approximately 1-1/4" and 6-1/4". A glimmer brad on each side of the bottom of the card keeps the bottom flap closed and allows the top to tuck in. (You could use one brad in the middle instead.) Just be sure to place the brads low enough that they aren't in the way of the top flap; otherwise, the card won't close properly. Thanks for looking!

I have to agree with you that these colors would normally look gaudy together, and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You must have just the right touch though and can make anything work together.

Just another way to use the matchbook fold. Fabulous idea. And the colors really speak to me.

Thanks for sharing.

Love how you have embellished the matchbook-style card with the tags.
