This past Monday, I was presented with the challenge of using "Metal Foil Tape" on a card. I was so excited to create a card that I decided to create an altered project as well.
I used a box I found at Paper Source ($1.50) and instead of using metal foil tape, I used regular tin foil. First I scrunched up my foil (not in a ball) several times. Then used my brayer and rolled it across to flatten out the tin. To enhance and give dimension to the box lid I cut out the #3 and #4 die from Nestabilities Blossoms Two from Spellbinders - then adhered it to the box lid. Once that was on, I used some small pearls and gems in each corner to give dimension and interest there as well. I covered it all with the tin foil and then began to burnish it with Rangers Distress Ink (Black Soot) and Viva 3D-Stempel-Farbe (Copper). The box and lid are lined with turquoise felt. Embellishments on the lid are gems, lace (to represent a Spanish mantilla), and rope (to represent the Mexican or Spanish cowboy - Vaquero). The feet of the box are from the collection of Tim Holtz which can be found at most craft stores.
