When I saw "color blocking", this is what I thought of! I've made a layout like this before and I intend to do them with Christmas card pictures we receive every year (even though it drives me a teensy bit crazy trying to get all the spaces between blocks to be even). I used up scraps of the newly retired Be of Good Cheer DSP.

This is what I think of when thinking about color blocking as well. And you're right, getting the measurements right can do your head in! You've done a great job on this layout!
