My Mom is still struggling from her surgery and post-surgery, serious complications. She is only showing the teeniest bit of progress every so often. Her recovery time will be 2-3 mos. and she is miserable. I thought this card might cheer her up and give her a giggle.
HOW I MADE THE CARD: I die cut my hexagon frame from the inside of a recycled box, punched out a few rows and attached to my black card base. Used scraps for all other pieces. I cut my beehive and bee, added line work to the hive. Cut b+w dp and attached. Aded beehive, filled in circle w/brown marker. Placed and attached bee, placing Scor-Tape only on the body so the wings and head would raise slightly over the hexagons. Added a few hexagons from flip side of recycled box (a Magnum ice cream bar box that has great colors.) Added natural twine. Computer generated the word "Bee-lieve" for the inside, adding a gold/white brocade-looking dp bee, as well.
Paper: MPad black, SU dp + glitter paper, recycled box (used inside and out)
Ink: SU
Accessories: Sizzix Sizzlits dies, PTI die, Scor-Tape, ? brand natural twine
THANKS for looking!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL--whether you're a Mama or "like a Mama" to kids, step-kids, neighbor kids, fur babies, fish, birds ... .

This is such a cool card!! I love what you have done with the hexagons. Your gold bee is neat too with all of the glitter. I'm sorry that your mom is still not doing better. It is so difficult to stand by and watch and wait. You are in the prayers of many.

This is really wonderful Gabby! I like how you combined your 2 inspiration pieces..the sparkly bee and the bee skep. Your hexagon is really interesting with the pieces of the reverse side of your box and the lower part peeking out looks like the tops of a fence..cool!! This is sure to cheer your mom ;)
