What an inspiring site this morning! Two cards made, and another one in my head (DH had a laugh at the "Alcohol, because no good story every started with someone eating a salad" plaque, and that surely calls for a chalkboard card), though with sunshine and warmth outside the garden might be more of a priority.
The two cards I did make are both birdhouse-inspired. This Lime Birdhouse helped me along with a card for the current Springtime Fun challenge over at Impression Obession. My birdhouse isn't lime, but I used ColorBox Lime to create my gingham background.
A2 base.
Springtime Birdhouse stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks - peeled paint, shabby shutters, mowed grass, tea dye, vintage photo, walnut stain, gathered twigs, frayed burlap, rusty hinge, fired brick, old paper, salty ocean, chipped sapphire, scattered straw. Sponging with peeled paint, broken china and antique linen.
I stitched the gingham layer, then wrapped cream organza around two corners. After adding little snaps in each corner of the image panel I tucked it in under the ribbon and added a bow.
Those two birds with the little hearts made me think of our robins. Part of the courtship is that the female makes little chirping sounds, just like the fledglings will. Presumably it's to check out how good a dad the male on the scene will be, because his correct response is to pick up some food and bring it to her. But our current male is NOT a good prospect. Sometimes he just downright ignores her, and after she's cheeped for a while she gives up and starts collecting her own food. One day I watched him pick up a suet pellet, but it was too big for him to get into her beak so he just flew off with it and ate it himself. He may never get as far as the little scene depicted here!!

LOL - your robin story is hilarious. Poor little guy doesn't seem to be a good prospect at all! Your birdhouse is so sweet and beautifully colored.
