I received a card along these lines for Christmas, and as I needed an extra-special thank-you card I took a closer look at the construction and made a spring/summer version.
The beautiful one I received was in creams, and green glitter card with stars as poinsettias - I don't see it in her gallery here, but this is another one she made. The base of the one she sent me was cream card stamped and embossed. I know why it was just card - because when you stick DP onto card and then fold it, it tears. I really wanted to use DP for my "vase" though, and thought I could work around it by covering each side of the base separately and then adding extra decorative corners, gluing them on with the "vase" folded flat. This has worked - although I meant to add some Liquid Pearls to my cream corners.
Base is a 4" x 11 1/2" piece of card scored every 2 3/4". Inside it are three pieces 3 3/4" high, cut 3 1/4" wide and scored at 1/4" and 3" to make tabs so they can be glued inside the "vase" at intervals to hold the flowers.
Papers are all K&Co Geo Floral, with cream Bazzill for the punched corners and tag. I used Spellbinders Dahlia for the flowers, which are fastened to strips of clear plastic packaging with the brads, and the strips are then stuck inside the vase at different heights and depths from the front. I threw in some Spellbinders Foliage for good measure, and a MB butterfly.
Tag is a punch, sentiment is from Anita's.
I know this will be a little heavy to post - but it does fold flat to fit in a bubble mailer!
