To honor QFTD Sharon (smadson) I chose this card.
I changed the image and used the chalkboard technique for today's CAS214 challenge. What caught my eye about Sharon's card was the fancy scallop behind her image panel. Sharon framed her image with an additional layer, and I just added two-toned strips either side to frame mine.
For the chalkboard challenge I stamped the image in white on navy cs then used color pencils in several shades of green and orange. I stamped the flower first, then masked it and stamped the leaves. The flower ended up looking closer to brown, and seemed to match the pinkish-brown cs base. The hardest thing about the chalkboard technique was purposefully smudging the navy cs to make it look like erased chalk.
There are several (many!) more cards in Sharon's gallery that I really like, so I might case another one later.
Enjoy your reign sweet Queen Sharon!

Val, your case is so pretty! I especially like that lattice die cut! Your chalkboard technique looks wonderful with your lovely flower! I love that you used the navy for the "chalkboard" too! Great idea to use the two strips, they look awesome!
