Created for MIX5 - to use a mask on your project. I stamped the roses from using a mask to overlap them. I then cut a total of 3 masks to cover the three roses when I created the background. There were several steps before I ended up with this. First I stamped the swirling birds in navy blue, didn't like it, then I stamped linen over it in brown, still wasn't crazy, then I sprayed the entire card with brown/gold ink spray, still wasn't what I wanted. THEN I inked the larger part of the card with versamark and sprinkled gold iridescent embossing powder over it. Finally the effect I wanted! The smaller part of the card was embossed with glossy black embossing powder. It's really kinda cool because the background is one layer, but the matte, colored flowers really look like they are popped up. It's a cool technique.
Thanks for looking

You rocked this technique! I kept scrolling back and forth from photo to description as I read thru your process. Kudos for moving forward with your BG even when you didn't like it. And the black EP near the fold really does make your flowers pop. Thanks for playing along with this challenge.
